Job Summary
The Substitute Teacher at St. Gertrude provides instruction and supervision in the absence of the regular classroom teacher. The ideal candidate will maintain a safe, respectful, and engaging learning environment.
Job Responsibilities
-Deliver lessons and maintain classroom order in accordance with the teacher’s written plans.
-Uphold and support the Catholic identity, mission, and values of the school.
-Supervise students in classrooms, hallways, lunch areas, and during recess or other activities as assigned.
-Ensure the safety and well-being of all students.
-Maintain confidentiality and professionalism in all student and school matters.
-Leave notes or feedback for the regular teacher regarding student performance and classroom activities.
-Attend to minor disciplinary issues and refer serious infractions to administration.
-Lead or participate in prayer or liturgical activities when appropriate.
Job Requirements
-Bachelor’s degree required (Education or related field preferred).
-Teaching or substitute teaching experience preferred.
-Ability to manage a classroom effectively and follow lesson plans.
-Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
