Position Summary:
The Senior Reliability Manager will be responsible for developing and deploying a comprehensive program to drive performance improvements across our largest manufacturing site. This role requires significant experience and expertise in driving organizational change.
This role is responsible to provide overall leadership and director to the reliability and maintenance function. The position has total responsibility for the safe, effective and efficient use of all manpower, materials, budget and other resources under their control and full ownership for delivering consistent, predictable performance to the business. This position will operate autonomously, constantly engage team members at all levels and routinely interact with business leaders. It will leverage your entire skill set to cover an area of broad scope in a complex and fast-moving environment.
Responsibilities:
Support of BIH safety practices and provide timely responses to Instrumentation, Controls and Electrical (ICE) related requests and be subject matter expert to the site support in creating safe work plans. Support development of the Site Electrical Safety Program.
Support to BIH Safety Policies, including both mechanical and electrical. Act as the site subject matter expert for creation of safe work plans.
Lead all aspects of the Reliability and Maintenance functions, delivering excellent performance in the areas of Safety, Reliability and Operations. Includes developing and managing related budgets to maximize site capacity, operational performance and workforce utilization.
Develop foundational maintenance and reliability programs, and drive their adoption and compliance. Direct use of criticality ranking and Failure Mode and Effects Analysis (FMEA) to develop preventive (PM) and predictive (PdM) strategies.
Improve skills and capabilities of site employees, making sure each has the right skills and tools to perform work correctly the first time.
Lead the fast adoption of a new CMMS (Aptean EAM) and ensure data is complete, accurate and that it drives action. This includes resolving gaps in master data related to spares, job plans, bills of material, procurement and similar.
Lead efforts to deploy standard best practices and work management flows. Develop performance dashboards, metrics and KPIs to drive adoption and deliver expected performance gains. This includes ensuring core roles are staffed with proper skills and are driving their related metrics.
Lead efforts to makeover the existing storeroom and shop. This includes related work processes and activities related to spares criticality ranking. Deploy work order kitting to maximize Technician Wrench Time.
Maximize resource impacts by managing succession planning, leveraging skills assessments and driving heavy efforts in learning and development.
Drive cultural change via aggressive use of Root Cause Analysis (RCA), 5-Why, Fishbone, 5S and similar methods. Shift entire mindset from reactive to proactive at an extreme pace. Role drives sites move to Continuous Improvement mindset.
Optimize employee engagement at all levels to identify, develop and implement continuous improvement opportunities that deliver measurable benefits to BIH (safety, productivity, costs).
Develop, recommend and implement strategies for improving the reliability of the manufacturing processes. Drive process stability and improve the ability to changeover and run at rate with minimal upsets. This will involve capital as well as people-related efforts (skills, methods, techniques and similar).
Develop and manage aggressive 3-year capital investment strategy, focused on resolving end-of-life situations, increasing capacity, debottlenecking processes, improving operational flexibility.
Ensure reliability and maintenance requirements are built into all projects and ongoing efforts. This includes proper design of new equipment and systems, modification of existing assets, deployment of proper methods and tools. This includes driving strategic deployment of technology platforms, automation, and similar with the goal being to modernize the site and increase business capabilities.
Develop full analytics and dashboard capabilities, including detailed performance metrics at the asset level
Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor Engineering degree or other related field.
Minimum 8 years experience leading maintenance and reliability efforts, managing operations, or leading performance turnarounds in cultures where resistance is high. Experience in sites with highly complex manufacturing schedules, high changeover rates and similar challenges is preferred.
Internally driven with ability to deliver quality work in a high-volume setting.
Ability to engage and influence individuals and groups; communicating appropriately at all levels; fast-thinking/capable of answering detailed questions for areas of responsibility; and delivering results in a complex setting with competing priorities.
Technical skill and experience can come from any of the following sectors: Meat processing, Power Generation, Electrical Distribution, Industrial Automation, Agriculture, Food and Beverage, Packaging, or Chemicals.
Experience overseeing/managing skilled workforce. Proficient in core maintenance work management processes: identification, prioritization, planning, scheduling, and execution. Experience optimizing PM/PdM programs, storeroom management and work force utilization.
Excellent project management skills with ability to control Scope, Cost and Schedule. Proficient use of project management software preferred.
Ability to simultaneously manage multiple projects of different scopes, in a fast-paced environment, and highly skilled at adapting to changing business priorities.
Facilitator for Root Cause Analysis and similar methodologies.
Advanced Microsoft Office Suite (Excel) capabilities
Benefits Overview
Competitive base salary ($110,000- $140,000 annually). Base salary is one component of a competitive compensation package for employees. Full benefits package, including medical/ vision/ dental/life insurance, 401(k) with company match, and paid time off. We take into consideration a variety of factors including, but not limited to, skills, abilities, experience, education, credentials, and internal equity when determining the base salary offered. Roles are eligible for additional rewards including an annual incentive program based on individual and company performance.
