Job Summary
The Maintenance Technician ensures that all church buildings, grounds, and equipment are maintained in a clean, safe, and operational condition. This role supports the mission of the Catholic Church by providing a welcoming, well-maintained environment for worship, ministry, and community service.
Job Responsibilities
-Perform routine inspections and maintenance of HVAC, plumbing, electrical, and lighting systems.
-Conduct repairs to furniture, doors, locks, windows, and other facility elements.
-Set up for church events, including Masses, funerals, weddings, and community gatherings.
-Maintain church grounds: mowing, trimming, snow removal, and seasonal landscaping.
-Ensure the safety and security of the premises.
-Monitor and restock janitorial and maintenance supplies.
-Maintain records of maintenance work and report larger issues to leadership.
-Comply with diocesan policies and safety standards.
-Supervise or coordinate with outside contractors as needed.
Job Requirements
-2+ years of experience in facility maintenance or a similar role.
-Basic knowledge of plumbing, electrical, HVAC, carpentry, and mechanical systems.
-Ability to lift up to 50 lbs and perform physical labor.
-Ability to work independently and handle emergencies.
-Flexibility to work occasional evenings, weekends, or holy days.
-Respect for and understanding of the mission and values of the Catholic Church.
