Job Description:
Critical tasks include reading and analyzing mechanical plans/specs and other bid documents, communicating with vendors, and communicating with general contractors/owners. We are looking for someone who can maintain relationships with current clients and develop new relationships over time.
Duties:
Review and process bid invitations. Review drawings for accuracy and submit RFIs. Request and procure quotes from suppliers and subcontractors. Maintain file systems and compile bid documentation. Estimate projects from start to finish. Request and review shop drawings. Assist with project management.
Additional Responsibilities:
Attend pre-bid meetings. Request project permits. Create purchase orders and order equipment/material. Monitor job progress. Client relationship development.
Skills and Abilities:
Strong critical thinking abilities. Detail oriented. Willingness to learn. Excellent reading/writing and basic math skills. Ability to manage multiple and frequent deadlines. Self-motivated. Excellent communication and relationship-building skills. Excellent organizational and planning skills.
Education and Experience:
1+ years' experience in mechanical or plumbing estimating strongly preferred. 4-year degree and/or construction experience preferred. Proficiency with PDF software and Microsoft Office Suite preferred.
