Job Duties
Under broad direction, assists with design, research, and development of new applications and major enhancements. Provides guidance to developers, testers, and support staff. Using an understanding of the technological advances in both the software industry and in the oil and gas industry this person will challenge the technical software delivery process to deliver fit for purpose software in a more timely manner. This person will have had experience in leading software development projects and may provide Technical Excellence Leadership for more than one team, providing expert guidance to software developers and support staff. Provides guidance to staff on application security standards, secure coding practices, and secure architecture designs. Provides a strong technical focus in product planning for a complete software system. Requires completion of an undergraduate degree in Computer Science or similar discipline, and a minimum of 10 years of experience including software development experience.

Responsibilities

-Own and manage the end-to-end software delivery process across multiple teams.
-Coordinate release planning, scheduling, and execution to ensure successful and timely delivery.
-Collaborate with product managers, tech leads, and engineers to align on scope, priorities, and timelines.
-Monitor delivery progress, identify risks and blockers, and drive resolution.
-Champion agile best practices and foster a culture of continuous improvement.
-Ensure compliance with quality, security, and regulatory standards (e.g., SOC2).
-Communicate delivery status and outcomes clearly to stakeholders at all levels.
 

Requirements

-10 years of experience in software delivery, release management, or technical project/program management.
-Strong understanding of agile methodologies (Scrum, Kanban, or scaled agile).
-Experience coordinating cross-functional teams in distributed/remote environments.
-Proven ability to manage multiple priorities and complex dependencies.
-Strong communication and stakeholder management skills, including executive-level reporting.
-Familiarity with CI/CD pipelines, DevOps practices, and cloud-native environments (Azure preferred).
-Solid grasp of quality assurance and compliance processes.
 

Bonus Skills

-Experience managing delivery in Kubernetes-based environments.
-Background in software engineering or technical leadership.
-Knowledge of the energy or scientific computing domain.
-Experience with ISO/SOC compliance audits.
