Specialist: Guarantees
Job Purpose
The Guarantee Specialist plays a key role in the processing, issuance, and management of guarantee instruments. This position ensures that all guarantee transactions are executed accurately, efficiently, and in compliance with internal policies and external regulatory requirements. The role supports both operational delivery and client service excellence within a high-volume, compliance-sensitive environment.
Job Responsibilities
-Process and issue various types of guarantees (e.g., bid bonds, performance guarantees, advance payment guarantees, property).
-Ensure all documentation is complete, accurate, and compliant with internal and external requirements.
-Liaise with internal stakeholders and clients to resolve queries and provide guidance on guarantee processes.
-Monitor and manage guarantee expiries, amendments, and cancellations.
-Maintain accurate records and audit trails for all guarantee transactions.
-Support the team in meeting service level agreements (SLAs) and turnaround times.
-Assist in identifying process improvements and contribute to risk mitigation efforts.
-Collaborate with the Senior Specialist and other team members on complex or strategic transactions.

Requirements
-Successfully completed NQF Level 6 or Higher in Finance, Banking, or a related field.
-Minimum 2–3 years’ experience in trade finance, guarantees, or a similar operational role.
-Strong understanding of guarantee instruments and regulatory requirements.
-Experience working in a high-volume, deadline-driven environment.
-A clear credit and criminal record a must.
