Job Title: Software Test Engineer (Junior to Mid-Level)
Contract Type: 12-Month Contract
Location: Munich, Germany – Onsite, 5 Days per Week
Start Date: August 2025
We are seeking a Junior to Mid-Level Software Test Engineer to support our client on a full-time 12-month onsite contract in Munich. You’ll work directly at the client’s R&D facility, contributing to the validation of embedded software and hardware systems. This hands-on role is perfect for engineers with a passion for testing, automation, and working at the interface of hardware and software.
Key Responsibilities:
-Develop, maintain, and execute automated and manual test cases for embedded and hardware systems
-Create test scripts using LabVIEW and Python
-Operate and maintain test benches with lab equipment (oscilloscopes, multimeters, power supplies, etc.)
-Perform functional, performance, and reliability testing of embedded products
-Investigate and document software/hardware issues, and collaborate with engineering teams to resolve them
-Contribute to continuous improvement of test infrastructure and processes
-Maintain clear and structured documentation of test plans, results, and defect tracking
Skills & Experience:
-1–4 years of experience in software/hardware testing or embedded systems validation
-Solid working knowledge of Python and LabVIEW for test scripting
-Hands-on experience working on a test bench with embedded or hardware-based products
-Familiarity with embedded systems, microcontrollers, or hardware interfaces (UART, SPI, I2C)
-Strong analytical and debugging skills
-Ability to work full-time onsite in Munich
-Team-oriented with good communication and documentation skills
Desirable (Nice to Have):
-Experience with test automation frameworks or data acquisition systems
-Exposure to version control tools (e.g. Git)
-Understanding of firmware development and debugging
-Previous experience in the automotive, semiconductor, or electronics industry
