Job Title: Teaching Assistant

This School is a specialist day school for boys aged 5-11 with social, emotional, and mental health needs (SEMH) as well as autism spectrum disorder (ASD). The school offers a nurturing and therapeutic environment where students are encouraged to thrive academically, socially, and emotionally. Located in the beautiful countryside near Haywards Heath, the SLT pride themselves on creating a positive and inclusive atmosphere that supports the individual needs of each student.

The Role:

We are looking for dedicated Teaching Assistants to join this passionate team. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone who is enthusiastic about working with children with additional learning needs and who wants to make a real difference in their lives.

As a Teaching Assistant, you will:

* Support students in their learning, both in and out of the classroom
* Work closely with teachers to deliver high-quality educational and therapeutic support
* Help manage challenging behaviours in a calm, consistent manner
* Assist in the creation of a positive learning environment that promotes personal development
* Encourage students to achieve their personal and academic goals
* Contribute to student assessments, progress tracking, and feedback for parents/carers

Key Requirements:

* Experience working with children with SEMH, ASD, or special educational needs (SEN) is preferred but not essential
* A caring, patient, and empathetic attitude
* Strong communication skills and the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and families
* A commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children
* A flexible and proactive approach to supporting students in a variety of learning situations
