Testek Solutions is currently in need of a Hydraulic Aerospace Test Equipment Systems Engineer
About the Role
We are seeking a Hydraulic/Pneumatic Systems Engineer to lead the design and development of advanced hydraulic systems for our multi-functional F.h.L.A.P. (Fuel, Hydraulic, Lubrication, Actuation, and Pneumatic) test equipment. This role is ideal for an experienced engineer who enjoys working across disciplines, while driving innovation in hydraulic test solutions.
You'll be instrumental in supporting the full lifecycle of hydraulic systems-from concept and design through commissioning-while collaborating with mechanical, electrical, and software engineering teams.
Equipment You'll Work With
As part of the FhLAP group, you'll contribute to the development of hydraulic test stands used to evaluate a wide range of aerospace components, including:
Fuel and lubrication systems : fuel pumps, boost pumps, HMUs, FMUs, valves, nozzles, and servos Oil and lube systems : scavenge pumps, hydraulic clutches, oil coolers, tanks, and heat exchangers Actuation systems : electro-mechanical actuators and hydraulic cowl actuators Cargo and pneumatic systems : PDUs, cargo winches, air turbine starters, and environmental control systems
These systems often involve high-pressure hydraulic circuits, servo valve applications, and complex pneumatic piping-requiring precision engineering and robust testing capabilities.
Key Responsibilities
Design hydraulic/pneumatic systems based on Component Maintenance Manuals (CMM) and Technical Orders (TO) Select hydraulic/pneumatic components, including valves, pumps, transducers, filters, and fittings Size hydraulic tubing and hoses for optimal performance Support sales efforts by contributing to hydraulic/pneumatic test stand proposals Collaborate cross-functionally with electrical, mechanical, and software engineers Create and maintain accurate Bills of Materials (BOMs) Ensure projects meet milestones and stay within budget Mentor junior-level hydraulic/pneumatic engineers and review their work for accuracy Assist with hydraulic/pneumatic system commissioning and troubleshooting
Preferred Qualifications
Bachelor of Science in Engineering 5+ years of hydraulic design experience in a manufacturing environment Extensive experience in hydraulic circuit design, component selection, and system evaluation Proficiency in pneumatic/hydraulic high-pressure piping and servo valve applications Strong analytical skills for calculating pressure drops, heat transfer, power requirements, and system reliability Experience coordinating requirements with internal teams and external suppliers Hands-on troubleshooting experience with hydraulic and pneumatic systems Strong AutoCAD skills; SolidWorks experience preferred Understanding of I/O devices, PLCs, and control logic fundamentals Strong project management and communication skills Team-oriented with a positive attitude Willingness to travel up to 10% domestically and internationally Must be a U.S. citizen or U.S. green card holder
