Department Summary
The William Magee Center for AOD & Wellness Education (WMC) is dedicated to transforming students’ lives by providing education, intervention, and support services to enhance well-being and foster success at the University of Mississippi. We host programming and offer services related to holistic well-being, substance use and harm reduction, and support of students in recovery via the Collegiate Recovery Community. Our goal is to create a culture of well-being at the University of Mississippi by improving access to campus resources and supporting students on their journey to holistic wellness.
The WMC team consists of vibrant student affairs professionals with years of varied experience in student affairs and mental health support. Our culture promotes staff cohesion, staff wellness, and an attitude of excellence. We share a commitment to providing up-to-date evidenced-based education and support to UM student community.

Role Summary
Supports wellness programming and goals to promote health and wellness for institutional and external communities. Oversees the operations of the Collegiate Recovery Community (CRC) under the guidance of the William Magee Center's Assistant Director of Student Support. This role requires prior experience supporting the well-being of students who are in recovery from alcohol or other drugs. The primary roles for this position are facilitating recovery meetings, supporting student academic success, and working with campus and community partners to promote the CRC and student well-being.
Examples of Work Performed
-Coordinate the day-to-day operations of the Collegiate Recovery Community (CRC) support student recovery.
-Under the guidance of the William Magee Center's Assistant Director of Student Support, plan, develop, direct, and manage a program of comprehensive recovery services.
-Recommend and coordinate relevant internal and external resources to aid in student retention and completion.
-Conducts individual and group recovery sessions to support CRC participants' level of functioning.
-Facilitate regular programming both for the CRC and broader campus that includes CRC and community social events, CRC well-being programming, and campus events intended to recruit new members.
-Collaborate with the William Magee Center, other Student Affairs offices, and other campus entities to facilitate the well-being of current and future CRC students.
-Retain administrative records and data for the program, maintaining participant records.
-Completes other duties as assigned.
Essential Functions
These essential functions include, but are not limited to, the following. Additional essential functions may be identified and included by the hiring department.
1. Develops promotional materials, newsletters, and other marketing plans for wellness programs.
2. Evaluates and updates wellness programs as necessary.
3. Answers questions about how treatment programs contribute to the greater health of the community.
Minimum Education/Experience
Education: Bachelor's Degree
Experience: (3) Three Years Experience
