Opportunity
ArcelorMittal North America is seeking
a capable Tax Manager to join our team. Successful candidates should have at least six years of experience gained in a firm or in-house environment.
The Tax Manager will work with the Head of Tax and other colleagues to manage the ArcelorMittal North America US tax function, with a primary focus on special projects. The Tax Manager will also work with team members to manage certain day-to-day activities, including compliance & reporting.
Key Responsibilities
The key responsibilities include, but not limited to:

-Foster a performance-driven culture through personal effort and by example as well as through adherence to the Company’s values and strategies.
-Manage certain special projects, including tax planning and tax risk management, such as legal entity restructuring, intercompany transactions, financings, tax calculations (e.g., E&P, projections/modeling, etc.), implementation of new tax rules, tax credits & incentives, controversy, etc.
-Projects may involve different areas of tax, including federal income tax, international tax & transfer pricing, as well as state & local tax (e.g., income/franchise tax, property tax, sales & use tax, etc.).
-Lead tax department’s support of the Company’s NOES (nongrain electrical steel) construction project, including IRC
§48C tax credit administration.
-Facilitate department initiatives by liaising with other departments in order to manage transactions or special projects, implementation of changes and reforms, and structural improvements.
-Participate in global programs & cross-border projects, working with US & international tax & non-tax colleagues.
-Assess the tax implications of various scenarios, including the tax technical analysis as well as projections of potential tax impact.
-Assist in tax controversy, tax planning, tax process improvement, and evaluation of legislative & regulatory developments.
-Assist with tax compliance and reporting.
-Supervise internal processes as well as work of outside advisors in providing services.
-Take on additional tasks, special projects, and other related duties and work collaboratively with team members at all levels in the organization.
-Any other duties and responsibilities as may be required.Professional Experience and Qualifications
Education:

-Minimum: Bachelor’s degree in accounting, business or related field.

-Preferred: JD, MBA, or Master of Taxation.

-More than ten years of relevant tax experience.
-Experience in a Big 4 accounting firm, law firm, and/or large corporate environment.
-Steel industry or heavy manufacturing experience.

-Working Conditions – Office-based position, Monday through Friday (currently 4 days, 1-day WFH). Extended hours may be required during peak workload periods.
