Technology Manager – GaN

The GaN Technology Manager is responsible for overseeing the development, integration, and production of GaN-based technologies within a photonic device manufacturing environment. This leadership role defines strategic technology directions, drives innovation in materials and processes, and ensures projects align with business objectives while meeting the highest standards of performance, quality, and reliability.
Operating at the interface of R&D, production, and product development, the GaN Technology Manager leads multidisciplinary teams and works closely with international partners and customers.
Responsibilities:
-Lead the development, scale-up, and optimization of GaN-based photonic components (e.g., lasers, photodetectors, high-speed transistors).
-Define and execute technology and product roadmaps aligned with market trends and customer requirements.
-Manage the end-to-end lifecycle of GaN technologies, from concept through industrialization and customer delivery.
-Drive cross-functional collaboration between R&D, process engineering, operations, and commercial teams.
-Identify and implement innovations to improve performance, yield, and manufacturing efficiency.
-Oversee risk management strategies for technology, process, and supply chain.
-Mentor, develop, and evaluate engineering and technical teams.
-Represent the organization as a technical ambassador at conferences, industry events, and with stakeholders.
-Ensure compliance with quality, safety, and environmental standards for compound semiconductor production.
Required Education and Experience
-PhD or Master’s in Engineering, Applied Physics, Photonics, Materials Science, Optoelectronics, or related field.
-10+ years of industrial experience in compound semiconductor manufacturing or R&D, with proven expertise in GaN technology.
-Demonstrated success in scaling advanced technologies and leading multidisciplinary teams.
-Hands-on expertise in the design, fabrication, and integration of GaN-based devices in photonics, semiconductors, or RF/microwave sectors.
-Experience with equipment selection and commissioning for epitaxy, lithography, etching, metallization, and backend processing.
-Strong track record of technology transfer, scaling, and industrialization of GaN products and processes.
Technical and Management Skills
-Expert knowledge of GaN materials, device physics, and fabrication processes.
-Experience managing fab operations, cleanroom practices, and high-volume semiconductor manufacturing.
-Proficiency with photonic design and simulation tools (KLayout, Lumerical, COMSOL),
