Description
The selected candidate will join a dynamic engineering team dedicated to managing semiconductor quality investigations. This role involves reviewing and analyzing quality data and documentation to drive improvements in customer quality support. Additionally, the individual will be responsible for designing and implementing efficient reporting templates to communicate the progress and outcomes of quality investigations.
Responsibilities
-Drive structured 8D analysis to identify root causes of quality issues, implement corrective actions, and ensure sustainable improvements in semiconductor products.
-Analyze Quality Data and Trends
Review and interpret quality metrics, customer returns, and failure analysis reports to identify recurring issues and opportunities for improvement.
-Develop and Maintain Reporting Templates
Create efficient and standardized templates to document investigation progress, corrective actions, and final resolutions for internal and customer-facing reports.
-Collaborate Cross-Functionally
Work closely with design, manufacturing, and customer support teams to gather relevant data, validate findings, and align on corrective actions.
-Utilize Statistical and Analytical Tools
Apply statistical methods and tools (e.g., Pareto analysis, fishbone diagrams, control charts) to support root cause analysis and validate effectiveness of corrective actions.
-Support Quality Systems and Documentation
Ensure all investigation activities are properly documented in quality systems (e.g., Salesforce, Power BI), and contribute to continuous improvement of quality processes and standards.
Required Experience and Skills
-Currently enrolled in electrical engineering, pursuing a BS or MS degree
-Excellent verbal and written skills.
-Excellent analytical skills / critical thinking.
-Understanding of database management. (PowerBi, Sales Force)
-Basic understanding of semiconductor manufacturing processes
-Problem – solving abilities.
-Solid understanding of statistical methods
-Ability to understand electronics schematics and diagrams.
-Basic understanding of automotive semiconductors quality.
-Must have a team-oriented attitude, accountability, and ownership.

The typical pay range for an Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $26.00 - $47.50 per hour and for a Non-Engineering intern across the U.S. is currently USD $22.50 - $42.00 per hour. Starting pay will depend on level of education, the ultimate job duties and requirements, and work location. Skyworks has different pay ranges for different work locations in the U.S.
