Hatch is currently seeking Mechanical/Piping Interns to join our Mechanical team in CITY, STATE. The position will allow candidates to be involved in all aspects of equipment specification, evaluation, selection, purchase, and information analysis & distribution. Interns will be assigned to work closely with experienced engineers who will provide guidance and mentoring.

Key Responsibilities:

-Assist in preparing engineering calculations such as hydraulic modeling, stress analysis, equipment sizing and tank and ensuring that all analyses satisfy user and system requirements
-Prepare technical specifications based on input received
-Prepare data sheets based on input received
-Prepare and/or review project standard specifications and design criteria
-Prepare or provide input to 2D mechanical drawings
-Prepare and update engineering lists
 

Qualifications:

-Must be currently enrolled in and pursuing a Bachelor of Science degree in Mechanical Engineering
-Minimum of a cumulative 3.0 GPA on a 4.0 scale
-Strong interpersonal and communication skills
-Aptitude for working on multi-disciplinary teams
-Commitment to achieving engineering excellence
-Ability technical knowledge to various practical problems
-A desire to learn and continually develop
-Strong personal commitment to safety
-Previous Co-op or Summer Student experience an asset

-Perform assignments related to your sector
-Assist with preparation of detailed design for projects
-Support preparation of drawings from detailed notes and specifications
-Coordination with other technicians/engineers on projects
-Provide support to Senior Engineers and Designers as and when needed
