Position Description

This is a rare chance to run a full P&L in one of the most exciting areas of ag tech. The General Manager will lead FieldWise through its next phase of growth – driving innovation, expanding markets, strengthening dealer relationships, and creating meaningful customer value.

Position Details

-Location: Norfolk, Nebraska (preferred) or Omaha, Nebraska with frequent travel to Norfolk (3–4 days/week and as-needed)
-Reports to: SVP, Strategy & Business Development
 

Duties & Responsibilities

-Lead the Business:
Own the overall performance of FieldWise, including strategy, operations, commercial growth, and financial results.
-Operational Excellence:
Oversee production, assembly, supply chain, purchasing, order fulfillment, and customer support to ensure quality, efficiency, and scalability.
-Commercial Leadership:
Drive sales, marketing, product management, and dealer network development to expand market coverage and customer adoption.
-Financial Accountability:
Deliver on sales and gross margin targets, manage SG&A within budget, maintain an accurate forecast, and develop the annual business plan.
-Strategic Growth:
Identify and execute opportunities for innovation, entry into adjacent markets, geographic expansion, and dealer channel growth.
-Innovation Mindset:
Champion the development of new features, solutions, and technologies, including AI-enabled solutions, to create customer value.
-People Leadership:
Build, develop, and inspire a high-performing team; foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and continuous improvement.
-Customer & Dealer Relationships:
Maintain close connection with customers and dealer partners to ensure their success and loyalty.
-Performance Management:
Establish KPIs, monitor results, and implement corrective actions to meet or exceed business objectives.
 

Qualifications

-Experience:
10+ years of progressive leadership experience, including at least 5 years in a senior management role within agriculture, ag tech, or a related technology-driven industry.
-Industry Experience:
Agriculture background required; pivot irrigation and/or agronomic knowledge beneficial.
-Technology Expertise:
Proven success leading in a technology-driven business, ideally in telemetry, IoT, software-based solutions, or related fields.
-Team Leadership:
Proven ability to inspire and align broad teams, from field service and production staff to product managers and salespeople, by fostering collaboration, accountability, and a shared commitment to delivering exceptional results for customers and the business.
-Commercial & Strategic Skills:
Demonstrated ability to create and execute growth strategies that deliver measurable results, expand channels, and develop new markets.
-Financial Acumen:
Ability to manage P&L, forecast, budget, and develop well-supported business cases that drive investment and growth decisions.
-Education:
Bachelor’s degree in business, engineering, agriculture, or related field; MBA beneficial.
-Communication:
Excellent written and verbal communication skills; able to connect with employees, customers, and senior executives.
-Work Style:
Practical, hands-on, and versatile leader who can get their boots dirty in the field, roll up their sleeves alongside product and operations teams, and effectively engage with senior-level customers and business leaders to drive strategy and results.
-Travel:
Eagerness and ability to travel domestically and internationally as needed. Travel is seasonal and offers important opportunities to engage directly with customers, dealers, and internal teams to strengthen relationships and drive business growth.
