ROLE- Mechanical Development Engineer
LOCATION- South Oxfordshire
TERM- Permanent
SALARY- £35,000- £42,000 per annum plus benefits (dependent on experience)
My client works within the engineering manufacturing sector, and they are looking to take on a Mechanical Development Engineer, on a permanent basis, in the South Oxfordshire area.
The Mechanical Development Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
- Degree qualified or the equivalent in Mechanical Engineering such as HND/ HND/ NVQ
- 2 years’ or more experience working in a similar hands on Mechanical Design / Development / Manufacturing position within an engineering manufacturing environment
- Proficiency with using 3D CAD; ideally SolidWorks but other software will be considered
- Have the ability to select the correct engineering components and materials
- Experience of DFM
- Previous experience of working with machine assemblies, test rigs or precision tooling would be desirable
- Excellent communication skills and problem solving skills
- The ability to work well alone as well as part of a team
The Mechanical Development Engineer role will involve:
- Being involved in engineering projects
- Designing and developing products and manufacturing processes
- Working with SolidWorks CAD software to design machine parts and tools
- Being involved in product development; setting up equipment for testing
- Meeting deadlines and targets that are set
- Evaluating product specifications
- Helping resolve any manufacturing issues
- Managing own workload
- Carrying out product testing
- Working in a multi-disciplinary engineering team
