Cover Supervisor- Maghull

The Role: What You'll Be Doing:
As a Cover Supervisor, you are the key to a smooth and productive school day. Your primary goal is to maintain a structured and positive learning environment. You won't be expected to teach or plan lessons; instead, your focus will be on managing the classroom and ensuring students remain on task.
* You will oversee pre-prepared lessons left by the absent teacher, guiding students through the activities.
* You will manage classroom behaviour with a confident and consistent approach, ensuring all students follow school policy.
* You will act as the first point of contact for students, answering their questions and keeping them engaged and focused on their work.
* You will report back to the relevant teacher or head of department on the day's progress, including any issues that may have occurred.

Who We're Looking For:
While a formal teaching qualification isn't necessary, the right attitude and a key set of skills are non-negotiable.
* You must have or be willing to undergo an Enhanced DBS check. We are looking for individuals with a proven track record of working with young people, whether through a formal role, volunteering, or prior work experience.
* Excellent Communication: You can give clear instructions and build rapport quickly with both students and staff.
* Authority & Presence: You can command respect and manage a classroom effectively without being overly confrontational.
* Problem-Solving: You can think on your feet and handle unexpected situations with a calm and logical approach.
