Role & Responsibilities:

* Lead and manage the company's purchasing function, overseeing the procurement of mechanical, electrical, and steel components, equipment, and technical services.
* Develop and implement strategic sourcing and procurement strategies to support business objectives and cost-efficiency goals.
* Manage, mentor and appraise the Purchasing Team, ensuring effective performance, professional development, and alignment with company objectives.
* Drive supplier selection, negotiation, and contract management with both domestic and international suppliers to secure best value and quality.
* Build and maintain strong, long-term supplier relationships to optimise performance, ensure continuity of supply, and mitigate risks.
* Monitor supplier quality, delivery reliability and commercial terms, implementing improvement plans where required.
* Oversee the preparation and presentation of sourcing summaries, supplier comparisons, cost savings reports, and procurement documentation to Senior Management.
* Provide timely and accurate reports to Senior Management on component availability, potential supply shortages, and delivery risks.
* Work closely with internal stakeholders including Sales and Spares, Engineering, Production, and Accounts to ensure purchasing activities align with operational and financial requirements.
* Keep abreast of market trends, new technologies and pricing developments to identify opportunities for value creation and innovation.
* Lead and champion continuous improvement initiatives across the purchasing process, focusing on cost reduction, efficiency, and strategic spend management.

Knowledge, Skills & Experience:

* Proven track record of managing a purchasing or procurement team within an engineering/manufacturing environment.
* Experience working as a Purchasing Manager within the manufacturing sector.
* Strong experience in supplier management, contract negotiation, and strategic sourcing.
* Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
* Commercially astute with the ability to balance cost, quality, and delivery requirements.
* Strong analytical and reporting skills, with a focus on driving results and improvements.
