Contract: Full time and Permanent

Starting salary: £42, # plus market supplement of £1000.00 per annum

Our operational and analytical response unit is looking for a lead analyst to join their busy and important team. These teams are critical in helping Hampshire & IOW Constabulary with their purpose of making ‘You, Your Family, and Our Communities Safer’.

About the role
In this role, you will manage a team of both analysts and researchers to develop analytical products in line with force priorities, support the Force with meeting a wide range of complex operational and organisational challenges. 

Responsibilities will be but not limited to: 

-Responsible for the line management of Analysts, Researchers and Higher Analysts. This includes matrix-managed responsibilities across interoperable teams.
-Prioritise deployment of analytical capability; provide direction, motivation and leadership; support wellbeing and related health issues; lead on recruitment, training and continual professional development of analysts and researchers; manage workload and performance management/disciplinary procedures.
-Build and maintain relationships with customers and Strategic Leads to identify, influence and assist problem solving and decision making ensuring that analysis is focused on highlighting key issues and answering the right questions in the most efficient and appropriate way.
-Provide quality assurance against national standards in analysis for analytical support across the organisation to drive innovation and best practice.
-Take responsibility for specific thematic or operational areas of work, supervise task and support staff to conduct analysis.
-Be a subject matter expert in analytical tools and techniques, use professional expertise and evidence to guide and influence others across the force through formal and informal engagement

Essential Qualifications

 

Essential: Educated to Educated to QCF Level 2 (5 passes to include English language and Maths) OR work experience deemed to have brought the postholder to a comparable level.

Essential Experience

-Supervisory experience showing resourcefulness and interpersonal skills
-Experience in prioritising, planning and managing the workload of a team
-Experience of planning analytical work (for example by writing terms of reference), and conducting analysis of complex information, which meets the needs of the customer
-Experience of innovative and creative approaches to problem solving
-Highly effective report writing and presentation skills, with experience in delivering to all levels of an organisation and ability to debate complex issues
-Ability to use own initiative and possessing good time management skills
