DO YOU HAVE WHAT IT TAKES?
THE BASICS

-Bachelor of Science Degree in Chemical Engineering, or equivalency related experience in chemical facilities
type="disc"-
-Minimum 5 years of experience in operations or project engineering in a heavy industrial environment
-Intermediate experience with Microsoft Office products (especially Excel) and general computer proficiency
-In depth experience with SAP (Purchase Requisitions, Work Orders, Notifications)
-Experience or design knowledge of steam generation, water treatment, acid regeneration, demineralized water production, compressed air generation
THE EXTRAS

-In depth knowledge of utilities (steam, cooling water, water treatment) - ability to troubleshoot industrial equipment; i.e. pumps, piping systems, filtration, valves preferred

WHAT YOU’LL BE DOING

-Responsible for all Safety, Quality, Environmental and Production for Acid Regeneration, Demin Water, Cooling Water, Steam Production, Air Compressors, and Tank farm Operations
-Have complete understanding of all environmental permits, limits, and regulations with all the process units
-Ensure Environmental compliance with all the units 100% of the time
-Manage the Daily, Monthly, and Annual activities of area
-Work with the steel production lines (hot strip mill, cold roll mill, galvanizing lines), and Veolia interfaces (other lines in the process and the water treatment facility)
-Communicate and plan the equipment needs of the line with the Maintenance group, to include scheduled and unscheduled repairs
-Communicate and provide leadership and vision to the Support Systems’ team members
-Interface between process coordinators and technical specialist
-Optimizes the operation in terms of productivity, capacity, energy, and consumption
-Analysis of Line performance, equipment and KPIs, and investigation of all breakdowns: Root Cause Analysis and Corrective Actions for all line interruptions
-Conducts process trials through Support Systems
-Manage relationships with outside suppliers
-Fulfills the commitment to ensure a safe and healthy work environment
-Fulfills the responsibilities required to achieve the Quality Commitment
-Coordinates, trains, and leads operators for special tasks and responsibilities
-Leads, supports, participates in, and develops improvement programs and project groups
-Supports conducting regular analysis and data preparation of the operations processes concerning costs, quality, availability, weak spot analysis, future development, etc.
-Supports increasing and optimizing operations activities concerning time, cost, productivity, capacity, and resources
-Support management in optimizing quality, cost, and performance of operational units
-Conduct small-scale trials for process improvements
-Continuous know-how exchange with other technicians (electrical, mechanical, operations, quality)
-Responsible for scheduling, planning and execution of short and long-term operations activities and securing cost and schedule for those activities
-Prepare and attend meetings and briefings on the production and maintenance statuses of units
-Analyze reasons for production disturbances in cooperation with maintenance and productions personnel
-On call duty rotation responsibilities
-Ensure working knowledge of competencies as defined in ISO 14001 (current version), IATF 16949 (current version), and ISO 17025 (current version)
-Demonstrates strong interpersonal communications skills, written and verbal
-Demonstrates strong work ethic and displays a high degree of professionalism

-Days, Monday to Friday with extended hours as required due to periods of peak workloads
