Randstad is seeking a Nursery Assistant to join our client's team. This role offers an opportunity to make a positive impact on the lives of young children in a supportive and rewarding environment.

Position description / Job description

* Contribute to a planned programme of activities suitable to the age range of children.
* Maintain accurate records of children's achievements for parents/carers.
* Collaborate with parents/carers of children with special needs to ensure full integration.
* Support all staff and foster a positive team environment.
* Adhere to all company policies and procedures to uphold standards.
* Safeguard children by adhering to the company's safeguarding code of conduct.
* Liaise with and support parents/carers and other family members.
* Participate in out-of-hours activities, such as training and staff meetings.

Requirements

We're looking for you, if:

* Enthusiasm for working with young children.
* Interest in the care, learning, and development of young children.
* Commitment to providing high-quality childcare.
* Positive approach to learning and gaining new skills through teamwork and training.
* Previous experience of caring for or working with children (voluntary or paid).
* Understanding of Early Learning Goals.
* Knowledge of National Standards for the regulation of Childcare provision.
* Good organisational, record-keeping, and planning skills.
* Excellent communication skills with children, colleagues, and parents/carers.
* Patience, reliability, and trustworthiness.
* Positive approach to inclusive practice with children and colleagues.
* Flexibility to adapt to changing working hours occasionally.
* Completion of a recognised Level 2 Childcare qualification (or working towards completion).
* Understanding of Health & Safety and Food Hygiene in the workplace.
