Job Summary

The Entry-Level Human Resources Administrative Assistant will provide administrative and clerical support to HR and the central operations office. This role is ideal for someone starting their career in HR who has strong organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to handle sensitive information with discretion. The assistant will help maintain personnel records, coordinate employee onboarding, and support day-to-day HR and operational functions.

Duties and Responsibilities
Manage all office administrative activities, including routing of mail, FedEx deliveries and shipments. Ordering of office supplies and equipment, maintenance of office equipment, and other day-to-day office operations. Maintain and update employee personnel files, records, and databases. Managing phone calls, greeting visitors, organizing meetings, ordering supplies, and assisting Second Avenue Senior Management with Culture Building activities and communications. Support new hire onboarding, including preparing welcome packets and processing paperwork. Handle HR-related correspondence and respond to routine inquiries. Assist in benefits administration and help employees with forms or enrollment questions. Prepare HR reports, letters, and other documents as needed. Ensure compliance with company policies and labor laws in administrative processes. Help coordinate employee training sessions and events. Perform general office duties such as filing, data entry, photocopying, and scanning. Maintain conference rooms and organize breakrooms as needed. Perform other duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Proficient MS Office skills. Excellent attention to detail. Highly organized and self-motivated. Able to consistently meet deadlines. Aptitude in problem-solving. Strong empathy and interpersonal skills. Attention to detail and analytically driven. Excellent written and verbal communication skills. Ability to maintain confidentiality and handle sensitive information with discretion. Detail-oriented and able to work in a fast-paced environment. Sense of urgency and desire to render excellent customer service. Ability to organize workload, to prioritize activities and follow-up appropriately.
Education and Experience
High school diploma or equivalent (Associate's or Bachelor's degree in HR, Business Administration, or related field preferred). Previous office or administrative experience is preferred.
