Job Description

Support the Organization’s competitive advantage by developing, implementing and monitoring strategic sourcing and category management strategies to realize cost savings through bulk sourcing with a focus on aligning with the overall company strategic goals and priorities.

Job Responsibilities
Strategic Procurement
-Works in collaboration with the Sr. Director, Global Supply Chain, Sr. Manager Strategic Category Management and Sr. Manager, Global Supply Chain to support the development of strategic priorities in support of operations.
-Contribute to overall supply chain strategy collaborating with key stakeholders across sites and functions.
-Establish spend category segmentation to guide procurement strategies aligned with overall business goals and objectives.
-In collaboration with sites and projects, lead sourcing programs and teams for critical and high spend procurement to deliver best value and drive standardization and optimization of scale opportunities across sites for key spend categories.
-Identify cost savings through effective negotiation strategies, supplier consolidation, and process improvements helping to identify opportunities to create value beyond price reductions through improved quality, service, and safety.
-Lead S2C technology and innovation initiatives through process design, business requirements development and providing subject matter expertise with stakeholders.
-Ensure adoption of innovative technologies and best practices capable of enabling effective and efficient procurement.
-Monitor key performance indicators for cost savings, supplier performance and process efficiency.
-Develop enhanced spend and market data analytics to drive improved decision making and procurement performance.
-Lead teams of procurement professionals to support sites with strategic sourcing programs and identify sourcing opportunities.

Capacity Building and Training
-Build procurement skills and capacity with site and project teams by sharing procurement knowledge, best practices and ensuring procurement teams are compliant with policies, standards and practices.
-Create and maintain a learning and training environment by providing coaching and feedback across Corporate and Site sourcing teams including guidance on negotiation and contracting practices to help support overall team efficiency.
-Assists in the identification of gaps in current processes and supports the development of Kinross Supply Chain Policy and standard operating procedures.
-Supports with the development and implementation of demand planning and forecasting processes for improved strategic sourcing and category management across sites.
-Support in developing supply chain team profile identifying technical and soft skills for key positions to support team development.
-Support recruitment, talent development and secondment of resources for short term assignments for sites and projects.

Education and Experience

-Bachelor's or Master’s degree in Supply Chain, Business Administration, Engineering, or a related quantitative field. 
-Extensive experience in procurement and supply chain management, including several years in a leadership role (e.g., 7+ years total, 5+ in leadership).
-Leadership Skills: Proven ability to lead and develop teams, manage high-performing teams, and influence stakeholders across various levels.
-Strategic & Analytical Thinking: Strong analytical capabilities, strategic thinking, and the ability to drive process effectiveness.
-Technical Proficiency: Proficiency with SAP/Ariba for Sourcing and Contracts, ERP systems (like JDE) and data analysis tools (such as PowerBI).
-Negotiation & Commercial Acumen: Excellent negotiation skills and strong business acumen with applied legal knowledge.
-Communication: Excellent communication skills to engage effectively with internal and external stakeholders.
