Job Summary/Purpose

The Corporate Events Planner, reporting to the Sr. Manager of Events Planning and Corporate Services, will:

-Assists in the planning and execution of executive and board level events, major company meetings, stakeholder engagements and special events.
-Negotiate and manage contracts for various venues/companies such as hotels, conference centers, restaurants, and audio-visual companies.
-Arrange travel logistics and hotel lodging for participants.  Setup/coordinate offsite dinners, develop schedule of events, manage meeting space per specifications for audio visual needs, coordinate/manage outside contractors, security and other venue management.
-Partners with other internal teams including stakeholder coordinators, creative services, corporate security, IT, communications, public affairs and finance in the execution of events and stakeholder engagements.
-Assists with management of Entergy’s corporate sponsorships including, but not limited to the New Orleans Saints, New Orleans Pelicans, and Saenger Theater, including contract negotiations and other assets.
-Ensures all financial management protocols are adhered to with respect to contracts, supply purchases, etc.
 

Job Duties/Responsibilities

-Develop and implement event strategies to achieve organizational objectives. Plan and coordinate the details of major stakeholder events, corporate sponsorships and meetings.
-Create and manage event budgets, negotiate contracts in partnership with supply chain, and ensure cost-effectiveness. Negotiate contracts for facilities, travel, entertainment, security, ground transportation, catering/menu selections, audio-visual equipment, off site meals and activities and any other special requirements of the executive leadership team and board.
-Research venue options, conduct site visits as necessary, and create basic comparative cost and price analysis for evaluation based on event needs and objectives.
-Maintain mutually beneficial relationships with existing vendors and research new opportunities to provide more cost effective and creative services that meet organizational goals and standards.
-Assist with coordination of corporate sponsorships and assets/event ticketing for Super Dome, Smoothie King Arena, college sporting events, concerts, etc.
 

Minimum Requirements

Minimum education required of the position

Bachelor’s degree required. Advanced degree a plus.    

Minimum experience required of the position

-Corporate Events Planner: A minimum of 2 years of experience in event planning/hospitality/venue/hotel management.
-Corporate Events Planner, Sr: 5+ years of experience in event planning/hospitality/venue/hotel management.
