Business Analyst - NYC - Hybrid working

Key Responsibilities
Collaborate with portfolio managers and traders to gather requirements for new trading strategies, risk models, and performance reporting tools. Analyze large datasets from market feeds, trade execution systems, and internal databases to identify inefficiencies and recommend process improvements. Develop and maintain business requirements documents (BRDs), user stories, and process flow diagrams using tools like Jira, Confluence, and Visio. Conduct gap analysis on existing systems (eg, Bloomberg, Aladdin) and propose enhancements to support Alpha generation and compliance. Perform ad-hoc quantitative analysis using SQL, Python, or Excel to model scenarios, forecast impacts, and validate business logic. Facilitate stakeholder workshops and UAT (User Acceptance Testing) to ensure seamless implementation of tech solutions. Monitor key performance indicators (KPIs) for operations, such as trade settlement times and error rates, and report findings to senior leadership.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree in Finance, Business Analytics, Computer Science, or a related field; MBA or CFA preferred. 5+ years of experience as a Business Analyst in in asset management or hedge funds. Strong proficiency in SQL and data visualization tools (eg, Tableau, Power BI); familiarity with Python/R for analytics is a plus. Knowledge of hedge fund operations, including derivatives, fixed income, and equities trading. Excellent communication skills with the ability to translate complex technical concepts. Detail-oriented problem-solver with a track record of driving process improvements in fast-paced environments.
