Are you a patient, empathetic, and resilient individual with a passion for supporting young people to achieve their full potential?

Secondary schools across the vibrant counties of East and West Sussex are seeking dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistants (TAs) to join their supportive teams. This is a rewarding opportunity to make a tangible impact on the lives of young people with a diverse range of learning needs, including Autism Spectrum Condition (ASC), Attention Deficit Hyperactivity Disorder (ADHD), Social, Emotional and Mental Health (SEMH) difficulties, and other learning challenges.

Locations: Opportunities are available in various locations throughout Sussex, including but not limited to:

* East Sussex: Brighton & Hove, Eastbourne, Hastings, Lewes, Crowborough

Your Role:

As a Special Needs Teaching Assistant, you will play a crucial role in creating an inclusive and positive learning environment. Working collaboratively with teachers and other professionals, your key responsibilities will include:

* Providing tailored 1:1 and small group support to students, helping them to access the curriculum and engage in all aspects of school life.
* Assisting in the planning and adaptation of learning materials to meet individual student needs.
* Implementing and contributing to Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs).
* Fostering the development of students' self-esteem, independence, and social skills.
* Employing positive behaviour management strategies to support a calm and productive classroom atmosphere.
* Liaising with parents, carers, and external agencies to ensure a holistic approach to student support.

About You:

We are looking for individuals with:

* A genuine desire to work with young people with special educational needs.
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build rapport with students, staff, and parents.
* Patience, understanding, and a calm and encouraging demeanour.
* The ability to be proactive, flexible, and work effectively as part of a team.
* A minimum of GCSEs in English and Maths (or equivalent). Relevant qualifications, such as a Level 2 or 3 Certificate in Supporting Teaching and Learning in Schools, are highly desirable.
* Previous experience working with children or young people with special needs is advantageous but not essential for those with the right attitude and a willingness to learn.

What We Offer:

* Competitive rates of pay.
* The opportunity for ongoing professional development and training.
* A supportive and collaborative working environment.
* The chance to be part of a dedicated team making a real difference in the community.
* Both full-time and part-time positions are available to suit your circumstances.
