Description:

The University of Toronto Mississauga (UTM) remains committed to offering innovative, high-impact, and real-world opportunities to all of its students through experience-driven academic programming. High-quality experiential learning (EL) opportunities deepen undergraduate and graduate education, respond to the needs of society, contribute to community-campus relationships, and enhance the reputation of the University. In alignment with the vision of the UTM Academic Plan and its goal of offering a wide variety of EL opportunities to all undergraduate students, the Experiential Education Unit (EEU) launched the UTM Co-op Internship Program (UTMCIP) in Fall 2024. This program provides specialized professional development training and paid work-integrated learning opportunities for UTM students across a diverse range of academic programs, with plans for annual growth. Participation in the UTMCIP stream will allow students to explore career options, apply their academic learning in a professional context, gain valuable work experience, and build a professional network. We are committed to equity, diversity and inclusion and to designing programming that allows all students to meet their academic and career goals.  UTMCIP enhances the academic experience across the Sciences, Social Sciences, and Humanities while complementing the strong diversity of curricular EL opportunities that already exist on our campus.

Reporting to the Director, Experiential Education & Community Engagement, the Associate Director, Employer Relations will develop and lead a team responsible for all external relations activities related to the UTMCIP, including building and maintaining relationships with new and existing employer partners, coordinating employer-focused events, overseeing job recruitment cycle operational activities, managing program policies and records, and recommending and implementing improvements in program design. The incumbent will provide effective management to the UTMCIP Employer Relations team and work closely with the Associate Director,
Student Learning and Professional Development to ensure students are prepared to succeed and thrive in their work term opportunities, employment targets are met or exceeded, and that exceptional service is provided to students, employer partners and on- campus stakeholders.
