The role functions as a member of an area team that is directly responsible for the efficient production of quality products in the required quantities. This role will operate/change over specified machinery in the assigned area. Flex Operators must have the skill set to train and/or perform the tasks of other employees in the area as needed. This job requires strong communication, interpersonal and team building skills to support site objectives.

Key Responsibilities

-Load trailers according to loading specifications and in a manner which delivers product on time and complete as measured by our customers and other receiving destinations.

-Receive, unload, inspect all in-bound shipments (finished goods, materials and ingredients) using safe procedures while maintaining the quality of all products and using accurate inventory management procedures. Complete bin inspections and measurements accurately.

-Ensure quality ingredients are being extruded and finished product meets all quality standards and run documentation is completed.

-Collect samples for quality assurance as required.

-Perform product density checks as required.

-Perform analysis for fat, moisture and protein as required.

-Properly operator extruders, dryers, mixer, receiving and bulk unloading, packaging and other related duties. Fulfill all duties in absence of operator.

-Performs QC tasks such as metal checks, inspection of date codes, item numbers, dump logs, etc. 

-Maintains accurate records of quality checks, production numbers and waste performance.

-Ensure finished product is properly formed and coated.

-Isolation, segregation and re-evaluation of materials deemed to be non-compliant with regard to established specification.

-Both routine and non-routine collection of test data, sending and receiving analytical samples and results as well as process problem solving and troubleshooting.

-You are responsible for ensuring all finished goods meet finished product specification.

-You must be certified to operate a fork truck during routine job duties.

-You are responsible for routine cleaning and minor adjustment of packing    equipment.

-You will perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned by the line manager. Check the daily line-up before each shift.

-Perform accurate inventory transactions 

-Must follow Lock out Tag out procedures.

-General sanitation and cleaning and maintaining proper GMP's for site

-Good knowledge of personal computers, use of Microsoft Excel and Google sheets.

-Ability to work under stressful conditions such as heat, cold, heights, dust, dirt, chemicals and /or confined spaces and the ability to climb ladders and stairs and do repetitive bending and twisting, stooping and standing. 

-Working knowledge of Safety, Quality and Material Management Systems and procedures 

-Ability to read and understand the daily production run schedule, and execute to that plan 

-Ability to communicate to managers and team members any production, quality/food safety or other business critical information vital to operations and customer service

-Wearing proper personal protective equipment correctly.

 

Minimum Qualifications:

style="margin-top:0.0px;margin-bottom:0.0px"-
-Be 18 years of age or older 

-Have a High school diploma, GED or equivalent education 

-Must be willing and able to work and accept varying shifts and schedules 

-Ability to understand and effectively communicate in the English language

-Must be able to work at heights and in confined spaces.

-Must be able to lift up to 55 lbs.

-Forklift certified or the ability to certify, operate aerial lift.

Preferred Qualifications:

style="margin-top:0.0px;margin-bottom:0.0px"-
-3+ years of manufacturing experience operating a variety of machines 

-2 years of work experience within manufacturing, or a technical and/or trade discipline 

-Working Knowledge of food safety, GMP, HACCP, SPC 

-Demonstrated competency in computer and pc software including MS Office, Google and email

-Knowledge of inventory control principles

-Experience with JD Edwards

-SAP Knowledge and experience

Compensation and Benefits
Salary Range $20.81 - $23.50 USD

Pay is determined based on experience, qualifications, and location. Salaried employees may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses, profit-sharing, and long-term incentives for Executive-level roles.

Additional benefits include a minimum of 15 vacation/PTO days (hourly employees receive a minimum of 120 hours) and 13 paid holidays (vacation days are prorated based on the employee's hire date within the calendar year). Paid sick leave is adjusted based on role and location in accordance with local laws. Detailed information regarding paid sick leave entitlements will be provided to employees upon hiring and may be subject to adjustments based on changes in legislation or company policies.
