The Commercial Manager plays a key role in supporting the Non-Branded Distribution (NBD) Senior Leadership Team, including Mass Market and PPS, to deliver financial targets and business KPIs. Acting as a trusted business partner and “mini CFO,” the role provides commercial leadership, modelling for reviews, and oversight of Opex/Capex/Commission budgets to ensure profitability and operational efficiency. It also supports the NBD strategy, challenges the status quo to drive success, and manages risk, compliance, and audit requirements across the business
This highly visible role is central to strategic and operational decision-making, ensuring customer and financial objectives are achieved. As the face of commercial support within NBD, the Commercial Manager also provides ad-hoc commercial modelling for remuneration and profitability reviews, including for the Branded Retail business. The position requires strong financial acumen, commercial insight, and the ability to collaborate closely with senior stakeholders to optimise business outcomes
What you'll be doing:

-Act as a trusted business partner to the NBD leadership team by providing commercial insights, analysis, and fact-based recommendations to guide strategy and performance.
-Contribute to annual strategic, financial, and sales planning by forecasting NBD performance, identifying risks and opportunities, and providing recommendations on risk-reward trade-offs.
-Deliver accurate financial impact analysis and ensure forecasts and business cases reflect current data and approved assumptions.
-Lead commercial modelling and profitability reviews, providing analysis to support remuneration decisions and drive effective retail negotiations.
-Manage risk, compliance, and audit within NBD by identifying opportunities, minimising risks, and collaborating with Audit, Compliance, and Profit Protection teams.
-Manage NBD Opex, Capex, and commission models by identifying risks and opportunities, ensuring spend is optimized and aligned to business plans.
-Partner with the Finance Eval Team to deliver robust business cases, track benefits realisation, and apply learnings to improve future financial planning.
What makes you perfect for the role?

-Degree-qualified in business or commercial discipline with 5+ years’ experience in sales commercial management, ideally in a large corporate environment.
-Strong analytical, problem-solving, and conceptual thinking skills with the ability to prioritise multiple issues and meet demanding deadlines
-Excellent stakeholder management, communication, negotiation, and presentation skills, with the ability to influence outcomes and gain buy-in.
-Proficient in IT and commercial tools including Excel, Think Cell, PowerPoint, and TM1, with the ability to adapt to fast-paced and changing environments.
-Customer focus, challenger spirit, teamwork, integrity, and personal excellence, with the ability to work autonomously and respond effectively to ambiguity.
