Salary: Dependent on experience & qualifications, commensurate with industry standards

Job Hours: Monday - Friday 8.00am - 5.00pm

About Us:

Moulsford Prep School is an independent preparatory school for 330 pupils, aged 3 to 13, situated on an idyllic 30-acre site on the banks of the River Thames, near Wallingford in South Oxfordshire.

Formerly an all-boys school, Moulsford is now co-educational from Pre-School to Year 3 with girls progressing through the school year on year, becoming fully co-educational by 2030. Year 5 is currently all boys.

Moulsford aims to nurture the whole child, providing opportunities for each individual to develop their talents and abilities.

The Role:

This is an exciting opportunity to join a thriving Prep School teaching all subjects across the curriculum to Year 5.

The successful candidate will have a passion for teaching, the ability to inspire and enthuse pupils and a desire to get involved in many areas of school life, including coaching sport if this is an interest.

This is a fixed-term contract from 5th January 2026 - 1st July 2026 with the possibility to become permanent depending on the candidate and the requirements of the school.

The Candidate:

Experience & Knowledge

* Experience teaching a range of subjects at Upper Key Stage 2
* Excellent knowledge of the relevant curriculum

Skills & Abilities

* A passionate, inspirational, and highly effective teacher dedicated to achieving the best possible outcome for each child
* Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
* Good organizational skills to plan days and respond to the different needs of the children you teach
* The ability to inspire and enthuse young children by using resources imaginatively
* Energy, resourcefulness, responsibility, patience, and a caring nature
* Ability to work independently, as well as being able to work in the wider school team

Education & Qualifications

* QTS (Qualified Teacher Status) or an equivalent educational qualification

* A professional, flexible, and proactive attitude
* Supportive of Moulsford's ethos and strategic objectives
* Flexibility to work calmly and reliably in a busy school, both in a team and independently, with energy, initiative, and cheerful enthusiasm
* Ability and willingness to go beyond your own responsibilities to help others at busy times and to work outside normal hours as required, e.g., for Open Events
* Responsible for promoting and safeguarding the welfare of any children and young persons you come into contact with, in accordance with School policies
