We are looking for dedicated and proactive School Caretakers to join our teams in various schools across the vibrant city of Chester. This is a chance to use your practical skills to make a real, visible difference in a community.

About the Role:

In this role, you will be the cornerstone of a safe and efficient school environment. No two days are the same, and your work will directly impact the well-being of students, staff, and visitors. You will be responsible for the day-to-day operations of the school site, ensuring it is secure, clean, and in excellent working order. This isn't just a maintenance job; it's a role that requires initiative, reliability, and a commitment to creating a welcoming space for learning and growth.

Key Responsibilities:

* Site Management & Security: You will be a key holder, managing the opening and closing of the premises. This includes conducting security checks and responding to alarm calls as required.
* Routine Maintenance & DIY: Proactively identifying and performing a wide range of general repairs and maintenance tasks, from minor plumbing and electrical work to painting and decorating.
* Health & Safety Compliance: Ensuring the school adheres to all health and safety regulations, conducting regular inspections, and maintaining meticulous records.
* Grounds Upkeep: Keeping the school grounds tidy and presentable, including litter control, garden maintenance, and seasonal tasks like gritting pathways.
* Operational Support: Assisting with moving furniture, setting up for school events, and managing deliveries.

Skills & Qualifications:

* Proven experience in a hands-on maintenance, trades, or caretaking role.
* A solid understanding of health and safety protocols.
* Practical and proactive problem-solving skills.
* The ability to work independently and as part of a team.
* Strong communication skills and a professional, approachable demeanour.
* A full UK Driving Licence is often beneficial.
* A successful enhanced DBS (Disclosure and Barring Service) check will be required.

Why Work With Us?

* Exceptional Compensation: Earn a highly competitive daily rate, paid weekly.
* A Perfect Fit: We'll work with you to find placements that match your skills and schedule.
* Professional Growth: We are committed to your career development, offering ongoing opportunities for CPD (Continuing Professional Development) and an evidence-informed approach to teaching and learning.
* Referral Scheme: Refer a friend and receive a GBP300 voucher as a thank you! (Terms and conditions apply).
