Role Summary/Purpose
Manage the Hill’s South Africa logistics function. Leverage analytics and AI tools to provide strategic insights and data-driven recommendations that support the Field Sales & Marketing departments on promotions and new product launches. Make critical decisions and exercise keen judgment in regards to shipment of products from the manufacturing facilities and between the wholesalers that impact product inventory levels and customer service.
Job Responsibilities:

-Oversee logistical functions related to sourcing and transport from overseas plants to local wholesalers, including compiling and tracking vessel schedules & quantities of stock on each vessel, managing documentation for vessel clearance, import permits, health certificates, etc.
-Collaborate with the clearing agent to ensure containers are released and cleared through customs in a timely manner and the local health inspector to ensure product is cleared for resale according to an established process and timeline.
-Cultivate and maintain a strong partnership with the 3PL provider, focusing on tracking performance metrics and ensuring service level agreements are met.
-Drive stock alignment between Hill’s and the 3PL’s stock management system.
-Implement and monitor AI-driven solutions and analytics to improve supply chain efficiencies such as stock management and warehouse optimization.
-Collaborate with Regional & Supply functions, as well as with Supply Network Planning teams in Europe and the United States to ensure seamless supply chain integration and alignment with South Africa.
-Process credit claims for short received stock, damages and promotions monthly.
-Oversee stock levels of Puppy & Kitten Welcome Kits. Coordinate with the packing wholesaler to ensure adequate stock is available in all regions across the country.
-Manage the CHEP pallet program for all wholesalers, including placing collection orders, overseeing stock levels, and reconciling all associated reports.
-Process internal Staff Feed orders by placing orders with the relevant wholesaler and ensuring the correct stock is delivered.
-Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Qualifications:

-Tertiary qualification in Supply Chain, Logistics or equivalent
-A Bachelor’s Degree is advantageous
-Minimum 3 years experience in a similar role
Preferred Qualifications:

-High level of intermediate to advanced Excel skills
-Strong SAP skills advantageous
-Demonstrates data management and analytical capabilities as the role involves management of significant amounts of data
-Driving innovation, by challenging the status quo & collaboratively finding opportunities to continuously improve our processes, tools & systems.
-Understanding of Business processes, systems & strategies
-Excellent communication skills (both written and spoken), in the English language
-Demonstrated customer awareness
-Experience in working cross functionally with multiple stakeholders
-Demonstrates urgency in resolving challenges & driving opportunities
