Job Description
Our growing company is looking for an entry-level Manufacturing Helper to join our team! As a Manufacturing Helper you will assist Machine Operators on production equipment with an emphasis on safety and quality. As a member of the team, you will receive the training and experience needed to advance to the role of Machine Operator.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
• Assist in the safe operation of production equipment to produce quality products by adjusting machine controls for speed, temperature, pressure, etc.
• Understands and adheres to all safety rules and procedures.
• Produce orders on time to satisfy customer needs and production requirements.
• Perform product labeling, packing, wrapping and helping to supply line for production.
• Assists with all required quality inspections, testing, and production documentation.
• Comply with company standards regarding housekeeping and 6S on machines and surrounding areas.
• Helps perform routine preventative maintenance and assists maintenance personnel as needed on machine related issues.
• Other duties as assigned by plant leadership, production leads, or shift leads.
Qualifications
Required Qualifications:
• Experience working in a fast-paced environment.
• Experience operating high speed manufacturing equipment.
• Troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to solve problems and apply critical thinking to processes and equipment.
• Ability to use a tape measure.
• Experience with hand tools.
• Complete production documentation (paper and electronic): Production logs, Quality inspections, Down Time tracking.
• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic math, reading, and computer skills.
• High awareness toward safety for yourself and others.
• Able to work effectively and efficiently as part of a team or individually.
Preferred Qualifications:
• Extrusion experience
• College-level courses or trade school preferred, but not necessary.
• Ability to operate hoists, pallet jacks, and other related equipment.
Physical Requirements:
• Frequent standing, walking, and bending.
• Pushing, pulling, lifting at least 40lbs.
• Eye/hand coordination.
