An SEN School in Caterham is seeking an enthusiastic English Teacher to join their dedicated team. This role involves delivering outstanding educational experiences to students aged 11 - 16 who face communication and social interaction challenges, often associated with Autism.

Key Responsibilities:

* Deliver and develop a curriculum that meets the educational, physical, and social needs of students.
* Collaborate effectively within a multi-disciplinary team.
* Create and implement lesson plans that cater to short, medium, and long-term educational goals.
* Set, monitor, and review personalised learning targets.
* Assess, review, and communicate student progress to parents, team members, senior staff, and relevant bodies.
* Participate in the review of Statements, EHC plans, PEP, and LAC reviews.
* Structure lessons to ensure pace, motivation, and challenge.
* Stay updated on autism-related issues to plan effective teaching strategies.
* Address individual student needs with a non-confrontational approach.

Requirements:

* PGCE, QTS, or equivalent teaching qualification.
* Ability to teach English up to GCSE level.
* Experience working with pupils with ASD, SEMH, and PDA profiles.
* Strong understanding of Safeguarding principles and Child Protection procedures.
* Experience in managing a range of behavioural approaches, including challenging behaviours.
