About the Role:
We are seeking an organised and motivated Asset Supervisor - Helpdesk & Stores to join our Facilities Maintenance and Compliance (FMC) team at The University of Manchester.
In this role, you will co-ordinate the delivery of our Helpdesk and Stores functions, ensuring they provide a high-quality, customer-focused service across the University.
You will lead a small operational team, manage stock and procurement processes, and oversee day-to-day administration to ensure excellent service aligned with Service Level Agreements (SLAs).
This is an exciting opportunity for a Facilities professional who enjoys problem solving, building strong working relationships, and driving process improvements, to come and join a globally recognised institution.
Key Responsibilities:
* Supervise and co-ordinate the Helpdesk and Stores teams, ensuring effective delivery of services in line with SLAs.
* Act as the first point of contact for estates and faculty colleagues, providing advice and guidance.
* Develop and improve processes to support service excellence and champion continuous improvement.
* Produce KPI reports from the CAFM system to track and communicate service performance.
* Manage procurement and stock control processes in line with budgets and financial procedures.
* Build strong relationships with internal stakeholders, including Area Managers, Contract Managers, and Faculty teams.
* Support staff welfare and wellbeing, including managing attendance and return-to-work processes.
What We're Looking For:
Essential Skills and Experience:
* Educated to degree level (or working towards) in Facilities Management, or equivalent experience in a similar Helpdesk role.
* Experience supervising or leading a team in a facilities or maintenance environment.
* Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to liaise effectively with stakeholders.
* IT literacy, including experience with CAFM systems such as EAM/Concerto.
* Proven ability to deliver excellent customer service in a comparable role.
* Strong organisational, analytical, and problem-solving skills.
* Proficiency in Excel and Power BI.
Desirable Skills and Experience:
* Experience of P2P processes within Higher Education.
* Experience of developing SLA performance reporting.
* Previous experience working in Estates & Facilities in the Higher Education or Public Sector.
