Summary
The Boeynaems lab seeks a Research Technician to study how protein condensation is implicated in the etiology of neurodegenerative disease and brain cancer. The work includes protein biochemistry/biophysics, cell culture, microscopy and mass spectrometry.
Job Duties
-Plans, executes, and conducts protocols for research experiments alongside graduate students and postdocs.
-Performs cell culture studies using immortalized cell lines and stem cells.
-Performs immunohistochemistry and microscopy, using a confocal microscope.
-Performs plasmid preparations and assists the lab manager in biobanking.
-Collects, compiles, analyzes and presents data to the PI and other lab members.
-Performs other job-related duties as assigned.
Minimum Qualifications
-Bachelor's degree in a Basic Science or related field. Four years of related experience may substitute for degree requirement.
-No experience required.
Preferred Qualifications
-Has strong organizational and experimental skills.
-Good communication skills and be able to work well in a team.
-Experience in wet lab is a plus.
