Facility Manager
POSITION SUMMARY:
Supports the work of the Y, a leading nonprofit committed to strengthening community through youth development, healthy living, and social responsibility. Directs all maintenance, housekeeping, and improvement of operations of YMCA facilities and vehicles, including preventative maintenance. Supports the strategic direction while exemplifying the Y's commitment to inclusion.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
1. Provides overall coordination of facility maintenance, including planning and developing preventative maintenance through facility maintenance software.
2. Ensures the proper operation of all mechanical systems.
3. Completes repair work and projects in a timely manner.
4. Oversees all contractors that work in the facility and grounds. May request and review bids and recommend selection of contractors.
5. Works with outside agencies such as fire, health, building depts., etc. to ensure compliance with all local, state, and federal regulations related to facilities and grounds.
6. Develops budgets supporting the preventative and annual maintenance plans and monitors expenditures against budget.
7. Maintains records of income and expenditures.
8. Recruits, hires, trains, develops, schedules, and directs assigned staff and volunteers.
9. Reviews and evaluates staff performance. Develops strategies to motivate staff and achieve goals.
10. Participates with other members of management in the YMCA's Annual Support Campaign.
11. Advises management on maintenance issues and projects as requested.
12. Ensures that assigned vehicles (and other equipment) are maintained and operated in accordance with the policies and procedures of the YMCA.
13. Update's facility plans periodically. Develop annual plan of capital projects, consistent with the YMCA's strategic plan and community needs.
14. Member of the organization's Safety Committee and board sanctioned Facilities Committee.
Requirements:
QUALIFICATIONS:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
1. Bachelor's degree in facility management or a related field or equivalent.
2. Three or more years' experience in facility management or closely related field.
3. Working knowledge of mechanical, groundskeeping, electrical and plumbing systems, carpentry, and other maintenance-related areas.
4. Skills in supervision, budget management and project management.
5. Demonstrated professionalism in both attitude and appearance.
6. Excellent written and oral communication skills.
7. Proficient in computer operation knowledge required
8. Ability to relate effectively to diverse groups of people from all social and economic segments of
the community.
9. Ability and current license to drive with record that meets YMCA standards.
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
1. CPR, First Aid and AED certifications.
2. CPO - "POOL", and boiler certifications.
3. Ability to respond to safety and emergency situations.
Within 30 days of hire completion of: Child Abuse Prevention for Supervisory Staff; Working with Program Volunteers; CPR; First Aid; AED; Bloodborne Pathogens, 3 modules from the Advancing Equity training series by YUSA.
