ABOUT THE ROLE:
This is an exciting opportunity for someone who is passionate about safety, highly organized, with strong communication skills, and eager to grow their career in health and safety.
Reporting to the Director, Safety and Shared Resources, the HSE Administrator provides administrative and coordination support to our safety department. You will play an important role in supporting the implementation of company safety programs, ensuring compliance with WorkSafeBC and other regulatory requirements, and helping to foster a strong safety culture across our operations.
WHAT YOU'LL DO:
Manage Safety Documentation: Collect, track, and administer health and safety records. Oversee Safety Supplies: Order safety-related materials and reconcile invoices. Support Toolbox Talks: Collaborate with operations to ensure weekly talks take place. Coordinate Training: Book, schedule, and track staff training and certifications. Assist with Investigations: Participate in inspections, document findings, and prepare reports. Prepare WSBC Reports: Draft investigation reports and Form 7s for manager approval. Deliver Safety Orientations: Administer new hire orientations and develop training content. Maintain First Aid Compliance: Administer first aid as required and manage related records. Develop Procedures: Assist in creating safe work practices, job procedures, and emergency response processes. Contribute to Risk Assessments: Support the development of risk assessments and corrective actions. Support Audit Readiness: Participate in COR and Technical Safety BC Rail audit preparations. Strengthen Safety Culture: Carry out additional duties that promote health, safety, and environmental excellence.
WHAT YOU'LL BRING:

A diploma in Occupational Health and Safety (or equivalent) 0-2 years of experience in a health and safety role Strong organizational skills and keen attention to detail Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment Intermediate skills in Microsoft 365 Strong communication and interpersonal skills A collaborative and problem-solving mindset Flexibility to perform shift work as needed
WORKING CONDITIONS & PHYSICAL / SENSORY REQUIREMENTS:
This role will take you into all areas of our operations - warehouses, container yards, storage yards, and terminal locations. You'll be exposed to varying weather conditions and environments where heavy equipment is in use.
