Please note that this is a temporary position intended to support project needs for up to 6-months. 

Temporary Assignment – Position Overview:

We are seeking a skilled Mechanical Engineer to fulfill a temporary need within our System Design team. This role is intended to provide additional support for a terrestrial microreactor program for up to a 6-month timeframe.

Temporary Assignment – Mechanical Engineer Responsibilities:

-Perform independent reviews of existing piping designs, support designs, and associated analyses.
-Identify potential design issues, risks, and areas for improvement in piping systems and recommend corrective actions.
-Collaborate with cross-functional teams to address and resolve technical concerns.
-Utilize appropriate regulations, design codes and standards (e.g., ASME) for fluid systems.
-Generate detailed technical review reports that document findings and recommendations.
-Coordinate with other interfacing disciplines such as electrical engineers, I&C engineers, mechanical equipment designers, and test engineers.
-Prepare and present system design results to internal and external stakeholders.
 

Required Qualifications:

-A bachelor's degree in engineering or physics is required.
-A minimum of seven (7) years of experience in engineering is required.
-Must have extensive experience in piping analysis using AutoPipe software.
-Must be knowledgeable and have a strong understanding of ASME B31.3 and ASME BPVC section VIII.
-Must be proficient in design and analysis software (e.g. SolidWorks, ANSYS).
-Must have experience reviewing and interpreting piping stress analysis reports and design documentation.
-Must have excellent technical writing skills.
-Must have strong problem-solving skills with keen attention to detail.
-Must be proficient with standard Microsoft Office applications.
-Must possess the ability to self-direct with minimal day-to-day supervision.
-Must be a U.S. citizen.
-Must be able to obtain and maintain a U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) or Department of Defense (DOD) security clearance, whichever is required.
 

Preferred Qualifications:

-Active DOE or DOD security clearance is preferred.
 

 The compensation for this temporary assignment will be negotiated based on the candidate's qualifications for this assignment and the selected employment arrangement.
