Round Mountain is an open-pit mine located in Nevada, one of the best mining jurisdictions in the world. The mine uses conventional open-pit mining methods and processes ore by mill and heap leach. Kinross began operating the mine in 2003, and it has since become a continuous improvement leader in the Company’s portfolio. Round Mountain poured its 15 millionth ounce in 2018. Round Mountain and the nearby Bald Mountain mine make up Kinross’ Nevada operations. 

The Round Mountain mine is an important contributor to the Nye County economy and, working with local stakeholders, has helped achieve significant improvements in healthcare and education in the area.

Job Description

Under the general supervision of the Maintenance Superintendent, the Maintenance Coordinator is responsible for maintaining the equipment hours, availability, MARC contracts, and other corresponding duties.

Job Responsibilities

1.    Communication management:  Being a point of contact for clients, colleagues, vendors, etc.  Handle incoming calls, respond to emails, respond to Teams messages, and greet visitors ensuring effective communication within the organization.
2.    Scheduling and Calendar Management:  Create and manage calendar and schedules efficiently.  Organize meetings, appointments, classes, travel arrangements, lunches etc.  Coordinating logistics and ensuring all necessary materials are prepared in advance.
3.    Document Preparation: Prepare reports, presentations, and other documents. Drafting correspondence and maintaining filing systems to ensure that information is organized and easily accessible.
4.    Office Organization:  Maintain Office supplies and equipment, ensuring everything is stocked and functioning properly.  Includes coordinating maintenance of company equipment.
5.    Data Entry and Record Keeping:  Handle data entry tasks, maintain databases, and ensure records are accurate and up to date.  Keeping notes on meeting directives and assisting to streamline meetings.  Creating quarterly work orders.
6.    Support for Other Staff:  Provide support to managers, supervisors, and colleagues by assisting with various tasks. Help with creating JDE work orders, ordering supplies, helping set up Network access, assisting employees with directions on how to navigate programs like Benefit Solver, Personify, etc.  
7.    Assist Supply Chain:  Help by creating New Vendor A6’s.  Coding in TAPS.

Education and Experience

1.    Must be proficient in JDE, and Microsoft Office.
2.    Must have good general clerical abilities.
3.    Must work well with employees and outside customers.
4.    Must have at least one year of clerical experience.
5.    Requires valid driver’s license.

Reporting Relationships

Reports to the Mobile Maintenance Superintendent.
