Yanacocha Water Treatment Plant (WTP):
Located 800 km northeast of Lima, Peru, Yanacocha is South America’s largest gold mine. The WTP Project consists of two of the largest acid water treatment plants in South America (the West one with capacity of 3,000 m3/hour and the East one with 2,700 m3/hour). Early works are currently being performed on site, preparing the permanent platforms and laydown areas for the East and West plants, in addition to the Class 2 estimate, Level 3 schedule and Execution Plan.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will be responsible for estimating, analysis and control activities for projects with significant non-routine requirements or for cost activities which require a high degree of technical skill. You will prepare cost studies, review cost trends, and develop and implement project requirements for cost control. Your detailed analysis will provide innovative solutions to cost engineering challenges.
Major Responsibilities:
-Performing routine cost estimation, analysis and control activities as directed.
-Supporting the implementation of cost monitoring and control standards, techniques, systems and reports.
-Assisting with budget allocation and reporting/cost control for specific construction disciplines or groups of disciplines.
-Preparing cost data for proposals or contracts.
-Coordinating the development and accuracy of cost reports.
-Checking for consistency with previous reports to ensure compatibility and consistency.
-Preparing specific budgets according to prescribed standards and procedures.
-Collecting and classifying cost data.
-Performing budget allocation and reporting/cost control regime for specific construction disciplines or groups of disciplines.
-Preparing cost studies using historical data, statistical analysis and cost and quantity comparisons.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Role requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
-Demonstrated ability to establish criteria for Project Control activities directly related to Cost and Change Control (i.e. change management, trend program).
-Demonstrated ability in administrative management, supervisory and personnel functions.
-Proficiency in Bechtel PC operating systems, with mastery of several basic software applications that are currently used at Bechtel (Microsoft Office applications and others necessary to run Bechtel processes).
-Ability to analyze project work activities and coordinate timely, systematic and comprehensive tasks required for on-time reporting and deliverables; and help validate progress through quantitative surveys.
-Oversee the development and integration of individual Project Controls requirements into the overall project plan.
-In-depth level of experience to provide feedback and recommendations on Project Control requirements.
-Able to review design scope criteria and quantities for completeness and reasonableness, and coordinates with the project to develop additional estimation bases.
-Expert level of knowledge of engineering, procurement, contract, construction and commissioning work processes as performed by Bechtel.
-Expert in oral and written communication, with demonstrated ability to present Project Controls information to management / client.
-Ability to interact effectively with multiple employees and produce deliverables on time and with high quality.
