Project Overview:
Bechtel Mining and Metals offers engineering, procurement, and construction services for customers in the mining sector across multiple commodities including Iron Ore, Bauxite, Alumina, Aluminium, Copper, Gold, Coal, Lithium and Rare Earths markets.
Headquartered in Santiago, Chile, the M&M global business unit also has offices in Brisbane, Perth and Adelaide in Australia along with execution units in the United States, Peru, Kingdom of Saudi Arabia, India and other project locations around the world.
The Project is a greenfield mining, process, material handling and ship loading project with a focus on sustaining production, minimise environmental impacts, strengthen long-term relationships with neighbouring communities and foster local economic development.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will provide project field engineering specialization and expertise with work planning and packaging, material management, quantity verification and validation, safety and quality control, technical inspection and testing knowledge, and subcontract coordination. Your recommendations will ensure field engineering activities operate safely, are complete, and conform to quality standards and project requirements.
Major Responsibilities:

-Performing inspections and initiating supporting documentation for all Civil installations on an ongoing basis.
-Providing support to field supervision in establishing requirements for workforce, tools, equipment, and material requirements for a given work activity.
-Developing / reviewing installation work packages and construction work packages in support of the construction schedule.
-Executing field material take-offs from "Issued For Construction" drawings. Providing input to the quantity tracking applications and reporting on weekly installed quantities.
-Preparing field material requisitions for equipment and materials, and monitoring status of purchase orders and deliveries.
-Assisting field procurement in receipt inspection and reporting of associated equipment and materials, preventive maintenance requirements and storage requirements.
-Other tasks as designated.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Required bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 8-10 years of relevant experience or 12-14 years of relevant work experience
Required Knowledge and Skills:

-Demonstrated ability to motivate team members effectively & positively in a collaborative team environment.
-Demonstrated ability to problem-solve in high pressure situations.
-Experience on a Mining construction site especially in Western Australia.
-Experience managing Works Contractors.
-Understanding of applicable Bechtel work processes including Standard Work Process Procedures.
-Familiarity with Bechtel Standard Applications (BSAPs) including Setroute, Unifier, Aconex, DSCS, PTR, Agile, Navisworks, and other automation tools which are used on Bechtel projects.
