Agronomy Equipment Operator II (Yankton, SD) Job Description
GROWMARK, Inc. (DBA New Century FS) seeks an Agronomy Equipment Operator II (multiple openings) in Yankton, SD to drive and control equipment to support agricultural activities.
The specific duties include:
• Operate commercial sprayer or floater for the purpose of applying crop inputs to producer field;
• Operate and maintain single, tandem or multi-axle trucks/trailers and forklifts for delivery/pick-up of agronomy/energy products following specified time schedules to/from the company locations or customer locations to achieve profitable business growth;
• Accurately and professionally apply crop production inputs to fields and growing crops according to recommended rates, procedures, and following all pesticide labels;
• Utilize experience with competitive adeptness, inventory management, and product knowledge and proficiency, including fertilizers, ag chemicals, seed, soil needs, and field monitoring;
• Record application data according to regulations and standards;
• Safely set up, load, unload, maintain and operate sprayers, floaters, single or tandem axle trucks, and other equipment to meet company and DOT standards;
• Perform and record daily safety checks of assigned vehicle(s) and associated equipment by conducting pre-trip inspections, such as checking fuel and oil levels, inspecting tires, lights, and brakes.
• Follow the preventative maintenance program and maintain a clean truck to present a professional appearance;
• Load and unload containers, pallets, or materials and products, safely on/off trucks, trailers, or railcars;
• Assist with the inventory control and turn in application records on a daily basis, and ensure all product is accounted for with either an invoice or delivery ticket;
• Ensure leadership of the operations of the assigned location including assets, logistics, product handling, and application services; and
• Assist with training and development of personnel on application procedures and use of application technology.
We require a High School diploma or GED, plus 2 years of work experience as a Crop Laborer or using application technology for a commercial sprayer. We also require a CDL license and a commercial pesticide applicator certification. Please apply online at jobs.growmark/ or Celsey Stevenson at #
