Job Summary/Purpose
This position is responsible for the strategic leadership and oversight of Clean Generation development and execution, ensuring the safe, cost-competitive, and effective execution of projects to meet customer needs and achieve the identified benefits. Key areas of focus are carbon-capture and sequestration (CCS) project development, solar/battery development and execution, and some new nuclear development.
Job Duties/Responsibilities
Oversee all aspects of safely delivering clean generation projects. Provide strategic and tactical leadership for the execution of the various Stage Gate Processes and project development to ensure that planned projects deliver the benefits identified during project front-end loading and are executed with cost, schedule, and scope certainty. Develop strategic initiatives and goals to achieve excellence in project performance and drive continuous improvement. Ensure processes are scalable, no matter the size and scope of clean generation project.
Accountable for implementation and monitoring of company safety measures throughout the Construction Management organization while ensuring adherence to all safety procedures, processes and initiatives. Provide a clear, consistent message to all project contract partners. Collaborate with Construction Management to ensure projects are executed safely and a clear, consistent message is provided to all contract partners.
Ensure that resiliency initiatives are properly incorporated into all clean generation projects.
Provide strong and engaged leadership to the core functions of project management, engineering, construction, and project controls, building centers of excellence in each discipline. Establish framework for technical skill development and employee progression.
Drive best practice implementation and enable sharing of lessons learned across the broader organization.
Provide leadership, direction, and oversight to a geographically dispersed organization of technical professionals, field leadership, and contract personnel, ensuring that resources, internal and external, are available to meet the projected workload.
Provide leadership to engage strategically with vendors and suppliers, including the cultivation of strategic partnerships, where beneficial.
Liaison with senior leadership/key stakeholders to accomplish strategic imperatives and deliver on desired outcomes of projects. Operate successfully in a matrixed organization across Power Development, Capital Projects and with Project/Portfolio Development, Reliability & Resiliency, Chief Engineer, and Operations to accomplish merger objectives. Ensure strong collaboration and frequent interactions occur.
Minimum Requirements
Minimum education required of the position
Bachelor's Degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or similar technical field. MBA preferred.
Minimum experience required of the position
Minimum of fifteen (15) years of progressively responsible experience in the utility industry with experience in major capital project development, planning, execution, and control. Minimum of ten (10) years of supervisory or leadership experience. Technical understanding and skill in CCS project development preferred.
Minimum knowledge, skills, and abilities required of the position

Engaged leader with a documented legacy of strategic leadership with specific accomplishments in successfully developing and delivering capital projects/portfolios. Solid understanding of project management fundamentals and stage-gate processes focused on delivering a portfolio of clean generation projects with cost, schedule and scope certainty. Experienced in risk and contingency management. Skilled at leading and influencing across organizations, partnering with contract firms, negotiations, obtaining stakeholder input and support, driving continuous improvement ideas, improving organizational health, transforming organizations and improving customer centricity. Able to build, motivate and inspire effective teams and leverage team diversity. Expert at managing conflict, providing clear direction/role clarity and developing employees. Legacy of building productive relationships across the organization and with external parties. Demonstrated ability to lead teams to effectively achieve desired results and leading in a matrixed environment. Understanding of regulatory environments. Technical understanding and skill in CCS project development preferred.
