Job Summary:
In this role, you will report to the Program Director – Landside, and you will provide oversight of all construction operations in the Landside Program, which comprises multiple landside projects, including roads, services, multi-story carparks, and a hotel.
You will provide oversight to teams that monitor contractor planning, quality, interfaces, safety, construction, traffic and logistics, and completions within the landside precinct.
You will monitor that the contractors are compliant with project policies, procedures, site rules and procedures, and are performing within specifications and schedules.
The hiring process for this position involves customer approval.
Major Responsibilities:
Leadership / Supervision
-Engage proactively with the landside program construction teams’ development through competency development/assessment and feedback.
-Monitor that processes and procedures are fully developed and implemented.
Planning / Productivity
-Review ongoing staffing requirements for effective service delivery.
-Prepare and present reports and forecasts, including summaries of construction progress and expenditure forecasts.
Safety & Quality
-Monitor that project teams are implementing and enforcing policies, procedures and related work rules as established by project management.
-Actively monitor contractor compliance with safety requirements and encourage contractors to perform in a safe manner.
-Monitor work activities and the quality of work performed by the contractor.
Education and Experience Requirements:
-Requires bachelor's degree (or international equivalent) and 13-15 years of relevant experience or 17-19 years of relevant work experience.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
-Demonstrated experience in the successful management of major projects in the infrastructure and building industries.
-Knowledge of related construction practices and the economics involved and current knowledge of new methods of design and construction.
-High level of interpersonal and communication skills with demonstrable delivery of leadership and behavioural change within a large organisation and with outside organizations.
-Ability to influence and engage in a collaborative working environment with internal and external stakeholders while maintaining necessary levels of commercial awareness.
-Prior delivery partner or client-side project management experience is preferred but not essential.
