Contract Electrical Engineer

Are you an experienced and proactive Electrical Engineer looking for a new challenge? We have an immediate opening for a dedicated Electrical Engineer to join our client on a 6-month contract, with the strong possibility of extension for a further 6 months.

The Role

As a key member of our Estates & Facilities team, you will be responsible for a wide range of electrical maintenance and installation work across our various hospital sites. This role requires an individual who is highly skilled, takes initiative, and can work with minimum supervision.

You will be expected to:

Conduct maintenance and installation work on a variety of facilities, plant, and equipment.

Provide essential technical advice and support for the upkeep of equipment and utility services.
*

Work collaboratively within a team while also managing your own workload and priorities effectively.

What We're Looking For

We need a qualified and experienced professional with a strong background in electrical maintenance and repair, ideally within a healthcare setting.

Essential Qualifications & Experience:

NVQ Level 3 and City and Guilds Level 3 in inspection and testing of electrical installations.

18th Edition IET Wiring Regulations qualification.
*

Current City & Guilds 2377 Portable Appliance Testing qualification.
*

A valid driver's license and your own vehicle, as you will be required to travel between sites (mileage will be reimbursed).
*

Prior experience in a healthcare environment with a good understanding of HTM 06.02.
*

Proven ability to work in a demanding environment with conflicting priorities.

Skills & Personal Attributes:

A positive, proactive, and resilient attitude.

Excellent problem-solving skills and a high degree of accuracy.
*

Strong organizational and planning skills with the ability to manage multiple tasks.
*

Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).

Working Hours

This is a full-time role, 37.5 hours per week, with shifts scheduled on a rota between 06:30 and 19:00. You will also be required to participate in an on-call rota.
