Yanacocha Water Treatment Plant (WTP)
Located 800 km northeast of Lima, Peru, Yanacocha is South America’s largest gold mine. The WTP Project consists of two of the largest acid water treatment plants in South America (the West one with capacity of 3,000 m3/hour and the East one with 2,700 m3/hour). Early works are currently being performed on site, preparing the permanent platforms and laydown areas for the East and West plans, in addition to the Class 2 estimate, Level 3 schedule and Execution Plan.
Job Summary:
In this role, you will be required to organize activities relating to construction team and, subcontracts. Interprets, design drawings and specifications. Supervises field verification of materials. Provides technical direction to contractors in construction and design functions relating to electrical and instrumentation engineering in an area of the project.
Major Responsibilities:
-Coordinating with engineering on constructability and design issues and monitors the interfacing between the construction automation plan and the project controls program at the jobsite.
-Establishing a Design/Field Engineering working relationship and lines of communication with the Project Field Engineer/Area Field Engineer including agreement on engineering deliverables.
-Being responsible for quantity take-off, control, reporting and forecasting, and ensures the implementation of project environmental control plan(s) as required.
-Reviewing and providing input to project controls documents on progress relating to cost and schedule, and material receiving reports and warehousing to assure delivery of correct materials.
-Developing project construction procedures.
-Planning and recommending procedures to be implemented by construction contractors to ensure construction operations are within requirements of engineering design and specifications.
-Maintaining construction engineering records for job history.
-Supervising the receiving, distribution and filing of plans and specifications.
-Implementing controls over variables affecting job progress to ensure engineering and procurement provide timely delivery of drawings, materials, and equipment and to ensure that other corporate programs are fully utilized.
-Coordinating with the Area Field Engineer/ Lead Electrical FE / Project Field Engineer for any work related to contract administration and activities affecting the contract administration operation.
Education and Experience Requirements:
Requires recognized degree in Electrical/Instrumentation Engineering and technical knowledge described above.
Required Knowledge and Skills:
-Technical knowledge of all phases of electrical and instrumentation construction team relating to a single or multiple area.
-Thorough knowledge of construction activities as they relate to engineering disciplines, cost and scheduling, and contract administration.
-Experience in inspection and certifying electrical equipment, instrument (bulks/commodity) installation by contractors.
-Experience field work & electrical/loop testing. Knowledge of Peruvian CNE.
-Knowledge of project-specific environmental compliance requirements. Knowledge of "Zero Accidents" safety program.
-Knowledge of the use of subcontracts; knowledge of the contractor/subcontractor's responsibilities contained in subcontract documents.
-Prior experience supervising and administering subcontractors.
