ROLE – Project Manager (Mechanical Design)
SALARY - £45,000- £55,000 per annum (dependent on experience)
TYPE – Permanent
Location- Bristol
My client is a specialist manufacturer. They are looking for a Project Manager with a background in Mechanical Design Engineering to join their team in Bristol on a permanent basis.
The Project Manager will ideally have the following attributes:
- Experienced Project Manager, ideally with a background in Mechanical Design / Product Development
- Degree / HNC / HND / BTEC / NVQ qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes including sheet metal, fabrication, welded parts and machining
- Be proficient using 3D CAD software such as Inventor, SolidWorks, Creo etc.
- Knowledge of a variety of materials – sheet metal, injection moulded plastics etc.
- Be able to read engineering drawings
- Strong leadership skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects at once and deliver results on time and budget
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, both verbal and written
- Be able to work well individually as well as part of a team
Responsibilities include:
- Lead and Project Manage the Design, Prototyping, Development, Testing and Introduction of new products
- Identifying and managing full lifecycle projects, from bid generation to manufacture and delivery
- Successfully delivering projects on time and on budget
- Working on full lifecycle design projects
- Designing and developing new products
- Producing detailed works schedules, resource and projects plans
- Liaising with clients as required keeping them up to date with project progress
- Working with design, purchasing and production departments
- Presenting project plans and reports to management
- Reporting progress, managing risks and responding to issues
- Maintaining technical documentation as required
- Working in a small, multidisciplined team
