JOB – Junior Mechanical Engineer
LOCATION – Oldham
TERM- Permanent
SALARY - £25,000-£35,000, dependent on experience
My client is a specialist manufacturer. They are looking to take on a Junior Mechanical Engineer to join their team in Oldham on a permanent basis.
The Junior Mechanical Engineer will ideally have the following attributes:
- Degree / HND / HNC qualified in Mechanical Engineering or similar
- Technical knowledge with the ability to read engineering drawings
- Knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials – sheet metal, plastics, injection moulding, machining, assembly etc
- Proficiency with 3D CAD software- ideally SolidWorks, Autodesk Inventor, AutoCAD etc.
- Knowledge of tender process would be beneficial
- Excellent communication skills both verbal and written
- Excellent customer-service skills
- Confident and driven for career progression
The Junior Mechanical Engineer role will involve:
- Excellent opportunities for training and development, with room to progress within the company
- Using 3D CAD (SolidWorks)
- Producing technical drawings
- Inputting parts into the MRP system creating BOMs
- Dealing with customers on a technical level
- Investigating new product lines and areas within which the company can expand
- Supporting technical delivery of the company’s products and services
- Working on continuous improvement projects
