Position Description
Job Summary:
The Heavy Equipment Operator is a highly experienced operator that is assigned to a Summers- Taylor pipe crew. The Pipe Crew Heavy Equipment Operator is responsible for safely operating different pieces of equipment needed throughout project duration. The operator must be able to dig trenches on grade for sewer and storm drain lines. Equipment includes, but is not limited to loaders, excavators, and backhoes. When needed, the Heavy Equipment Operator will assist with manual laborer tasks when asked by supervisor.
Job Duties:
Safely Operate assigned Heavy Equipment. Must be able to read and adjust gauges, dials, and other indicators according to blueprints and foreman direction. Must be able to dig trench on grade for sewer and storm drain lines. Must be proficient in rigging and lifting for laying pipe, setting manholes and drainage structures. Must keep material clean and stored in a safe manner. Will be required to perform manual laborer duties as directed by supervisor.

Ability to meet physical demands of the job. Must be able to work weekends, night shift and overtime. Must have a valid Driver's License and willingness to commute to job sites. Must pass drug screen and physical. Must comply with criminal background check.
